Graduate Timelines

The following timelines are approximations to assist you as you plan for your education at OSU.

Current graduate students should check with their college and academic department at Oklahoma State University as early as possible for application deadlines, as these dates may vary.

The FAFSA includes Fall, Spring and Summer.

*For students who attend in the summer, in addition to the FAFSA, students need to complete a separate summer enrollment update.

 For the Fall Semester:

  • January 1 – The FAFSA is available to complete on January 1st each year for the following school year, beginning with the Fall semester. We encourage students to apply as soon after January 1st as possible. Priority for programs with limited funds is given to students who file the FAFSA early and respond promptly to any additional information requests made by the OSU Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid.
  • Late February/Early March - We typically begin receiving new FAFSA application results and requesting any needed documents. Students will be sent an e-mail notification for the receipt of the FAFSA and any documents requested.
  • April/May – We typically begin awarding federal/state financial aid for eligible students admitted to OSU and who have completed the financial aid process. Students are notified by e-mail about the award package and deadline for acceptance.
  • August – We typically begin disbursement of scholarship and financial aid funds several days prior to the start of the semester. Some funds are not disbursed until several weeks into the semester. Students will receive an e-mail notification shortly before the beginning of the semester to address disbursement of funds.

For the Spring Semester:

  • January - We typically begin disbursement of scholarship and financial aid funds several days prior to the start of the semester. Some funds are not disbursed until several weeks into the semester. Students will receive an e-mail notification shortly before the beginning of the semester to address disbursement of funds.
