OKLAHOMA'S PROMISE

We're committed to helping academically-eligible Oklahoma's Promise recipients achieve the dream of a college education at OSU.  Oklahoma students in grades 8-10 can sign up to participate in the program, previously known as OHLAP and administered by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE).   Once you graduate from high school and complete the curricular and conduct requirements for the program, you will receive funding from Oklahoma's Promise to cover the cost of tuition at OSU.

Per Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education policy, all Oklahoma’s Promise recipients must meet OSU’s financial aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) policy.  If you're ineligible to receive federal/state financial aid as defined by OSU’s SAP policy, you won't be eligible to receive Oklahoma’s Promise or Cowboy Covenant funding. In addition, a minimum college GPA of 2.00 will be required for courses taken through the sophomore year and a minimum college GPA of 2.50 will be required for courses taken during the junior year and thereafter.

COWBOY COVENANT

OSU remains dedicated to a high-quality, yet affordable education.  The Cowboy Covenant Program helps make that possible for Oklahoma’s Promise recipients by offering an additional $1,000 award per year for up to four academic years or 120 semester hours attempted (whichever occurs first).  This $1,000 award is in addition to any other OSU scholarships for which eligible students would normally qualify.

Eligibility Requirements:

    • Be an Oklahoma's Promise (OHLAP) recipient;
    • Be fully admitted to OSU*;
    • Be eligible for Oklahoma's Promise payment each semester;
    • File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) your first enrolled semester at OSU and demonstrate financial need;
    • Enroll as a full-time undergraduate each semester (fall/spring).

* Students admitted under the Alternative Admit provision are not considered to be fully admitted for purposes of Oklahoma’s Promise (OHLAP) or for Cowboy Covenant during their first semester at OSU.
