2017-2018 Timeline (Current Students)
The following timelines are approximations to assist you as you plan for your continued education at OSU.
The 2017-2018 FAFSA includes Fall 2017, Spring 2018 and Summer 2018 (For students who attend in the summer, in addition to the FAFSA, students need to complete a separate summer enrollment plans form).
October 1, 2016 - The 2017-2018 FAFSA is available for submission, using 2015 income and tax information. We encourage students to file the FAFSA as soon after October 1st as possible. Priority for programs with limited funds, including Federal Work-Study, Oklahoma Tuition Aid Grant (OTAG) and Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG), is given to students who file the FAFSA early and respond promptly to any additional information requests made by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid.
Students should regularly check their OSU email account and can always review their status by logging onto the OSU Self-Service portal and selecting the 2017-2018 award year in the financial aid section.
Late October/Early November 2016 - We typically begin receiving 2017-2018 FAFSA application results. Check your OSU email and the OSU Student Self-Service system for confirmation that your FAFSA was received and notification of any documents/information required to complete the determination of your financial aid eligibility.
February-April 2017–Typical timeframe to begin awarding federal aid to current students who have filed the FAFSA and who have responded to all requests for additional information requested by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid. Current students are notified by e-mail, to their OSU email address, when their award(s) are available for viewing/accepting on the OSU Student Self-Service portal.
August 2017 - We typically begin disbursement of scholarship and financial aid funds several days prior to the start of the semester. Some funds are not disbursed until several weeks into the semester. Students will receive an e-mail notification shortly before the beginning of the semester to address disbursement of funds.
